Girls' Bath Vanity Top Chosen

The silestone samples arrived from e-counters today and it took about oh, three seconds to make a decision. The Green River was much too dark, the Yukon Blanco too light but the Ivory Coast was perfect. The only real choice was whether to go for the slightly glossy finish or "leather", a honed matte look. (The bigger tile is the leather finish). I think either would have been fine, but the glossy is slightly cheaper and I think it will reflect some light, which in that bath with its tiny triangular window, will be a bonus.
Now I can go ahead an order that countertop. One step nearer to finishing the girls' bath.

Hi,
I found this site while searching for pics of Silestone in Ivory Coast. I was wondering if you are happy with your end result? (assuming that your are done with your project). Also, I am thinking of using e-counters as welll, how was that experience??
Thanks!!

The countertop is due to go in this week, so check the blog for further updates. I can say the Amarillo Palmira Silestone top we had made for the boys' bath is glorious and really easy to care for (windex and wipe).
We ended up going with the local Silestone dealer as he was cheaper than e-counters.com installed and much cheaper than the Home Depot quote, even though they get it from the same place!

Hi
Are you still going with the Ivory Coast? I just found out today that Silestone has changed the " composition" of this color. It is now more brown instead of green. I hope that you are getting the color that you wanted!!!

I hope so too, that's why I ordered the samples! It's been fabricated so I will find out on Monday May 7 when it is finally installed.

mee too!!! It will be interesting to see what the heck the sample that I get ends up looking like!! I am soooo mad, it took me a long time to find a counter top that I like, now I feel like I am back to square one.

The countertop was installed today. It is the same greeney color as the sample I got from e-counters.com, although I see that the photo on their website does look browner. Mine is exactly what I wanted, hope yours turns out that way too.

Hi,
Glad to hear that you are happy!!
I am still nervous, just cause the sample on their website does look so much browner than my sample. Any pics yet?? would love to see them.

lots of pics on Flickr. Some look brown, some more green. The photo with the best representation of the actual color is this one

It looks very nice!!! It's weird, like you said, some pics it looks brownish, some green. Can I bug you to ask, what size is your sink?? I'm still trying to decide what size to go with. Also, since I am here..... what's the distance between the back of the sink to the wall?? (where the faucet will go)
Thanks so much!!!

The sink is a 17"x14" Toto undermount from lowcostplumbing.com, I needed a small sink because there are drawers on either side of the vanity. The top is 43" wide, 22.5" deep and the distance from wall to sink is 6". The faucet goes in on Thursday so look for more photos then.

your bathroom looks great!!!
I am trying to decide what size sink to get. I have plenty of room on the vanity (49 inch)for a bigger one, my problem is my faucet. It's big. The spout is about 2 1/2 inches at the base. The guy at e-counters said that we would have 4 1/2 in space behind the sink if we went with the larger sink 19.5 in by 17.5 in. Or 5 inch if we went with the smaller sink 17.5 x 14. I dont want it to look too crowded, I know the difference is only a half inch. I didn't even think about this when I bought the faucet.

The only advice I can give is to get a large piece of paper (or newspapers taped together) cut to the actual size of the vanity top and then cut smaller pieces to represent the sink and faucet. That way you can try both sinks out.
Remember to leave enough room to clean behind the faucet!
