House swap?

Our Little Bungalow left me a comment on my post about landscaping that led me to think that maybe housebloggers should think about swapping their homes with other home rehabers to get those pesky little chores done that we don't like doing or are beyond our capabilities. Of course being a swap, you'd have to be willing to share your particular skill set and do some hard work on a house other than your own. But at the very least you'd get to see up close what the renovations look like and maybe pinch some good ideas.

It sounds like all you housebloggers would make ideal home swap candidates! Not only could you swap with each other and exchange skills for jobs but, if you arrange a direct swap that doesn't involve doing work for your exchange partner, preparing for a home exchange would give you a great incentive to get on with those little jobs most of us put off.

Hope you will check out the home exchange offers on our London based site and also our home exchange blog:

I think you are on to something...I would be so up for that :-) I'd stencil or paint anything....if someone would just come and get the bat out of my attic ;-)

Of course, this would be a whole lot more fun if you could get a few more house bloggers in exotic locations.

Oooohhh that would be sooo fun! And I could paint and bake and paint and bake, and well paint and bake. Think those are my two favs?
I do think you're on to something!
BTW I really do love landscaping, I've just been in the basement too long and neglecting everything else I wanted to get done this fall. That reminds, the peonies need to get transplanted.

I hear you.
In my experience, home exchange is a great inspiration to improve your home not to mention the new ideas you will collect in the homes away from home. (A Danish walk-in shower is on top of my list.) Also, I love how my home exchange guests teach me how to be more practical. (I would have never figured out by myself how to fill the dishwasher so efficiently!)
I recently started my own Home Exchange Network - www.JewettStreet.com. Why don't you give it a try? Membership is still free - no strings attached.
